The East Jackson volleyball team earned a massive non-region victory Thursday night, defeating two-time state runner-up Oconee County 25-14, 13-25, 15-11.
The win over the powerhouse Oconee County is the first time ever in East Jackson volleyball history and avenges a 2-0 loss to the Warriors earlier this season. Logan Beck led the way with 10 kills against Oconee County, including five aces and six digs, while Emily Lampe has six kills and three blocks against Oconee County, earning the Player of the Game status. Gavin Guest finished the night with nine digs and three aces. East Jackson faces North Hall and Banks County on Sept. 5.
