The East Jackson volleyball team will host region-foe Hart County in the Sweet 16 Round of the Class AA state playoffs. The match will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.
The Eagles rolled through the first round of the state playoffs, defeating Kipp Atlanta in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-11, 25-12. Logan Beck finished with 11 kills and eight aces in the first-round win, while Karly Petty finished with a team-best 23 assists. Emily Lampe finished with three aces, 11 kills and Gavin Gest finished with nine serve receptions and four digs.
East Jackson is 3-0 against Hart County this season, winning 2-0, 2-0 and 3-1.
The winner of Saturday's second-round match will face the winner of the Morgan County vs. Sonoraville matchup in the Elite 8, set to take place on Oct. 22.
