Swim Has Record Night

Swim Has Record Night

East Jackson's varsity swim team had a record night last Friday at the Habersham Pirate Plunge. The Eagles posted top 10 finishes in nine events and broke a large amount of school and personal records.

Courtney Cameron finished first in the 100-meter breaststroke, along with a new school-record of 1:09.90 during her second-place finish in the 100-meter backstroke. Cameron was part of the girls medley relay team, along with Piper Pennington, Taylor Joyner and Reagan Sams, that set a new school-record with a time of 2:17.73, placing in fifth place in the event. The same set of girls finished in fourth place in the freestyle medley relay, setting a new school-record with a time of 2:03.26.

Reed Cassidy placed sixth in both the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter breaststroke, while Taylor Joyner finished eighth in the 100-meter freestyle.

The Eagles boys medley relay placed ninth.
