Softball Claims A Pair of Wins
COMMERCE — East Jackson's softball team posted a 2-1 record last week, earning blowout wins over Gainesville and Cedar Shoals to improve to 7-9 on the season.
The Lady Eagles defeated Gainesville 16-8 last Monday before taking down Cedar Shoals 18-3 last Wednesday.
In the win against Gainesville, Anna McKinney was 2-for-4, while Avery Pulliam was 4-for-4. Autumn Hurndon was 1-for-3 with a walk and earned the win in the pitching circle.
Against Cedar Shoals, McKinney led the way with multiple hits in the game, while Shaelyn Pyle reached back by a hit-by-pitch, a walk and a hit. Ashley Rivera reached base twice, while Kaley LeCroy recorded a double. Hurndon and Makenzie Wilson each pitched inside the circle for the Lady Eagles.
East Jackson visited Union County on Tuesday, Sept. 26, and will visit Providence Christian Academy on Tuesday, Oct. 3. The Lady Eagles conclude the regular season with a pair of home matchups against Union County. (Oct. 5) and Banks County (Oct. 10).
