The East Jackson varsity soccer teams swept Class AAAAA opponent Seckinger Friday night in Gwinnett County. The Lady Eagles started the night with a 4-3 win and were followed up by a 3-2 boys win that ended in penalty kicks.
Both teams are now 2-0 in regular season play and face East Hall Friday night inside Eagle Stadium.
For the Lady Eagles, Melanie Tidwell got a hat trick scoring three goals in the win, while Megan Gates finished with one. On the boys side, the two teams went to penalty kicks following a 2-2 tie in regulation that saw goals by TJ Erickson and Jackson Tidwell. Inside the PK round, Erickson and Tidwell each scored, along with Kasen Wagner and Jared Ramirez. Levi Zimmerman was named the Player of the Game, saving two Jaguar penalty kicks to secure the victory.
