Brady Saunders struck out 11 batters and held Central Gwinnett to just two hits and three unearned runs to lift East Jackson to a 4-3 win over the Knights on Friday night in Commerce. The win capped off a 3-0 week for the Eagles, with a pair of wins over Central Gwinnett bookending a win over East Hall.
East Jackson (3-3) had its Monday game against Banks County postponed due to the cold and wind, but is slated to host the Leopards on Wednesday night before hosting Elbert County Friday night.
Saunders' pitching performance was also accompanied by a 2 for 3 night at the plate, which saw him score a run and drive in a run. Walker Mauldin drove in two runs for the Eagles, while Drew Richardson, Saunders, Jackson Moses and Jayden Nunez each scored runs in the win.
