Miller Adds Another State Qualifying Event

A week after qualifying for the Class AA state championship meet in the 200-meter individual medley and 100-meter breaststroke, East Jackson's Emma Miller set a new school-record and qualified for state in the 100-meter backstroke on Saturday at Tallulah Falls. Miller's effort led the Eagle girls to a fifth-place overall finish.
Miller also took home first place in the 100-meter breaststroke on Saturday, while Courtney Cameron finished third in the breaststroke and seventh in the backstroke. Max McEver finished ninth in the backstroke on the boys' side.
Haden Zuercher finished in 9th place in the 500-meter freestyle. In relay events, the girls finished fifth and sixth in the 200-meter medley relay and 200-meter freestyle relay, while the boys finished sixth in the 400-meter freestyle relay.
