Literary Wins Region Championship
The East Jackson High School Literary Team won the Region 8-AA championship Saturday at East Jackson High School. The Eagles finished in first place in seven categories and second in five categories. All first-place finishers advance to the state competition on March 22 in Milledgeville.
Drew Saucier finished in first place for Literary Analysis Essay, while Sarai Hood won for Personal Essay. Abigail Cornelious won Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking and William Bolt for Solo Comedic Interpretation. The team of Dominic Miller, Shane McAlister, Hudson Hill and Joshua Pittman won for Quartet Singing, while Carleigh Chandler, Emily Bunn and Kayla Fricks won for Trio Singing. Lincon Walker won for Boys Solo Singing.
Jack Saucier finished in second for Argumentative Essay, while Aspen Long finished second for International Extemporaneous Speaking and Adriannah Anderson in second for Solo Dramatic Interpretation. Reily McQueen and Jackson Gabriel finished second for Duo Dramatic Interpretation and Kayla Fricks in second for Girls Solo Singing.
