Hanseong Kang Leads East Jackson Past Central Gwinnett
Senior Hanseong Kang struck out 10 batters as the hurler led East Jackson's baseball team past Central Gwinnett 11-7 on Tuesday. Kang gave up two hits and three runs over six innings while walking two to improve EJHS to 7-3 overall on the season. East Jackson visits Madison County Wednesday night and West Hall Friday night before opening Region 8-AA play on Monday at Hebron.
East Jackson got on the board in the first inning after Walker Mauldin delivered on an RBI single. A double by Bryse Patterson extended East Jackson's lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
East Jackson added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Brady Saunders singled down the right field line, and Jayden Nunez doubled to center field, each scoring two runs.
Reed Cassidy hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the fourth to give the Eagles a 8-2 lead. East Jackson added another run in the fifth and two more in the sixth before surrendering four runs in the top of the seventh inning.
East Jackson Varsity Eagles tallied 10 hits in the game. Nunez led East Jackson with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Cassidy and Saunders each collected multiple hits for the Eagles.
