Grooms Announced As Interim Girls Basketball Coach
COMMERCE — East Jackson High School has announced Faith Grooms as the interim girls boys basketball coach for the 2023-24 season.
Grooms has previously served as an assistant coach for the Lady Eagles basketball program. She also serves as the head girls softball coach.
Grooms grew up in the East Jackson community, graduating from East Jackson Comprehensive High School in 2017 after winning a state championship in softball. Grooms attended Brenau University in Gainesville and returned to East Jackson Elementary School where she is a fourth-grade teacher.
The Lady Eagles open the basketball season on Nov. 7 with a preseason scrimmage at Seckinger High School in Gwinnett County. The Lady Eagles’ first regular season game is Saturday, Nov. 11, at Johnson High School.
