The East Jackson girls soccer team clinched a Class AA State playoff berth on Friday with a 4-2 win over Stephens County, the final region match of the season for the Lady Eagles. East Jackson is 9-3 overall and finished 4-1 in Region 8-AA, the highest among the public schools in the region.
Allison Wilbanks and Melanie Tidwell each scored two goals in the win over Stephens County, while coach Alicia Walker named centerbacks Tallulah Williams and Brittany Perez as the Most Valuable Players of the match.
East Jackson has a pair of non-region contests this week, hosting Flowery Branch and visiting Chestatee.
