Football Outlasts Franklin County, 29-21
The East Jackson football team withstood a late charge from Franklin County, securing a 29-21 win over the Lions on Friday night. With the win, the Eagles are now 4-3 overall (1-1 Region 8-AA). The Eagles are idle this Friday due to Fall Break.
Drew Richardson led the way with 117 yards rushing and one touchdown to go along with 182 yards passing and a score through the air. Jamarion Parks finished with 45 yards on 12 carries and a score, while Brooks Saunders finished with 124 yards receiving on eight catches and a touchdown. Grey Albritton connected on a 23-yard field goal that put the Eagles up eight points with three minutes to play in the game.
Defensively, Chase Wingfield finished with seven solo tackles, 11 assists and one tackle for loss, while Kole Smith finished with 10 total tackles, one forced fumble and one recovered fumble. Prince Moore finished with 10 total tackles and two quarterback pressures, while Aaronn Blackman finished with two tackles for loss, two sacks and one QB pressure.
