EJHS Softball Secures Back-to-Back Wins
The East Jackson softball team secured back-to-back wins Monday and Tuesday. The Lady Eagles combined to score 53 runs between the two wins. East Jackson started the week with a 26-11 win over Cedar Shoals and followed up a day later with a 27-7 win over Gainesville.
Cedar Shoals: East Jackson blew open the game with a 22-run, 13-hit second inning. Skyla Faulkner drove in six runs on three hits, including an inside the park home run in the second inning to score three, to lift the offensive production for East Jackson. In total, East Jackson secured 14 hits in the win.
Araya Underwood, and Reese Poelker also collected three hits in the win, while Kinley King finished with a pair of hits. Abby Smith earned the win in the circle, allowing three hits and four earned runs, while striking out four batters.
Gainesville: East Jackson scored six runs in the first inning, nine in the second, and six runs in both the third and fourth innings to blow past the Lady Red Elephants. The Lady Eagles finished with 17 hits on the night.
King finished with three RBIs, while Brooklyn Ross, Lillie Lester, Tykeria Johnson each drove in two runs. Underwood led the way with a pair of home runs, finishing the night with five RBIs. Ashlyn Geipal earned the win in the circle, surrendering four hits, seven runs with four strikeouts.
