East Tennis Downs Apalachee
The East Jackson tennis teams defeated Apalachee on Thursday afternoon. The Lady Eagles earned a 4-1 win and the Eagles won 5-0 over the Wildcats. The girls' tennis team is now 2-1 on the season, while the boys are 1-2.
In the girls matchups, Taylor Joyner earned a 6-4, 6-1 win in the girls' No. 1 singles matchup, while Kynzie Curtin won 6-3, 6-2 in the girls' No. 3 singles matchup,. The Lady Eagles earned victories in both doubles matchups. Sarah Kate Giddens and Claire Yarbrough won 6-3, 7-5, while Emma Murphy and Campbell Pettus won in back-to-back clean sweeps of sets, 6-0, 6-0.
On the boys side, Fletcher Brinkman won the No. 1 singles matchup by a score of 6-2, 6-2. Konrad Schramm was victorious in No. 2 singles with a score of 6-1, 1-6, 10-5, and Ethan Bailey won in No. 3 singles with a score of 7-5, 6-4. The Eagles won the No. 1 doubles matchup by forfeit and the No. 2 doubles matchup with Casey Loggins and Sam Cuzman 1-6, 7-5, 10-5.
East Jackson visits BASA on Monday, hosts Jefferson on Tuesday and Madison County on Thursday.
