East Football Announces 2024 Schedule

The East Jackson varsity football team announced its 2024 schedule on Monday. The Eagles, coming off a 6-4 season in 2023, will begin on the road on Aug. 16 at Winder-Barrow High School.

The home opener for East Jackson will come against an in-county foe when the Commerce Tigers visit Eagles Stadium on Aug. 23. The meeting between the two Commerce-based schools will be the first since Sept. 2013. East Jackson visits Dawson County on Aug. 30 and White County on Sept. 6 prior to a bye week on Sept. 13. The Eagles return home to host East Hall on Sept. 20 in the final non-region contest of the season.

East Jackson will remain in Region 8-AA for the upcoming two-year cycle, however will be joined by all new competition. The Eagles kick start region play with a home game against Hebron Christian Academy on Sept. 27, marking the first meeting between the two schools since 2017. EJCHS then visits Franklin County on Oct. 4. East Jackson is riding a three-game winning streak against Franklin County, with wins in each of the past three seasons. 

East Jackson's second bye week comes on Oct. 11, prior to a home game against Hart County on Oct. 18, a visit to Prince Avenue Christian on Oct. 25 and the regular season finale at home against Stephens County on Nov. 1.
