East Jackson had several runners and field athletes finish in first place in their track and field events during a home meet against surrounding schools on Monday night, officially kickstarting the track and field spring season.
Hayden Hodges finished in first place in the boys' 800-meter finals with a time of 2:04.70, followed by Cade Brown and Michael Kelleher in the event. Brown won the 1600-meter event, finishing with a time of 5:03.15.
In the High Jump, Branturan Callahan led a trio of Eagles in the event, finishing with a mark of six-feet, six inches. Callahan also finished in first place in the Long Jump, totally 21 feet, 2 inches.
On the girls side, Brenda Flores captured the girls 800-meter run with a time of 2:33.74.
