Cross Country Finishes Second, Third in State

The East Jackson boys cross country team finished second in the Class AA state championships on Saturday, narrowly falling short of defending their state championship, while the girls posted a school-record third-place finish. 

The boys finished with 94 points to secure second place, with Michael Kelleher placing 13th with a time of 18:37.14, and Cade Brown finishing 14th at 18:39.70. Colin Ramsey (18:45.82) and Landon Brown (18:48.67) finished 20th and 21st, respectively, while Rader Hanna (18:57.18) finished 26th. 

On the girls side, the Lady Eagles finished with 110 points to finish in third place, marking a second straight year they have reached the podium. Addisyn Odom finished 13th overall with a time of 23:27.20, while Brooklyn Lee finished 20th at 24:05.48. Abby Worley (24:44.88), Piper Pennington (25:26.32), Norah Nichols (25:26.80) and Courtney Cameron (25:42.28) finished 29th, 33rd, 34th and 36th, respectively.
