East Jackson's varsity competition cheerleading team claimed the Region 8-AA championship Saturday and will compete for the Class AA state championship this upcoming Saturday, Nov. 11, in Macon.
East Jackson scored 78 points in the sectional/region competition Saturday, and is among the 16 teams which will compete in the Class AA championships.
