A pair of East Jackson track and field athletes set new school records Thursday during the East Jackson Home Meet. Cade Brown set a new school record in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:28.27 and Michael Kelleher set a new school record in the 400-meter with a time of 51.33.
Brown finished first in the 1500-meter run, topping three Eagle teammates in the event. Brown also finished first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.06, edging teammate Hayden Hodges. Kelleher finished first in the 400-meter event.
Lester Jenkins finished first in the Discus Finals with a distance of 135 feet, 9.5 inches.
On the girls side, Brooklyn Lee finished first in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:20.21, while Alivia Weaver won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.27. Irmani Sims finished first in the Triple Jump with a distance of 31 feet, 9 inches.
