The East Jackson boys wrestling team finished first at the East Metro Championships, held at Monroe Area on Saturday. The Eagles' Angel Rodriguez finished in first place in the 120-pound weight division and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler. Mason Smith also finished in first place in the 132-pound weight division.
Paul Jenkins (285 pounds) finished second, while Emir Jacinto (215) finished third, along with Angel Robbins (126) and Kole Smith (157 pounds). Ryan Lampe (150) finished fourth, while Chase Wingfield (175) finished fifth.
Lady Eagles Compete at Lady Panther Invitational: Four Lady Eagle varsity wrestlers finished in the top six of their respective weight classes during Saturday's 31-team Lady Panther Invitational at Jackson County High School. Brittney Revez finished in third, while Estrella Landeros, Seanna McCarthy and Jaycee Trogdon finished sixth in their respective weight classes.
