The Region 8-AA champion East Jackson boys soccer team cruised into the second round of the Class AA state playoffs on Friday night, with a 11-0 win over Elite Scholars Academy. The Eagles will host Drew Charter School Thursday with a trip to the Elite 8 on the line. The winner of the second-round matchup will play either Toombs County or Berrien.
Against Elite Scholars Academy, Jackson Tidwell and John Holeman each finished with three goals, while Manny Deras contributed with two. David Rivera, Bryan Garcia and TJ Erickson each finished with a goal. Mason Gordon posted the shutout in the goal for the Eagles.
