Boys Soccer Claims First-Ever Region Championship
The East Jackson boys soccer team claimed the program's first-ever region championship Tuesday, Mar. 26, with a 10-0 win over Banks County. The win solidified an outright region championship for the Eagles, who will now serve as the No. 1 seed from Region 8-AA in the upcoming GHSA State Playoffs.
The Eagles are currently 4-0 in region play, with a game against Fellowship Christian remaining on Thursday.
In the win over Banks County, David Rivera led the way with three goals, while TJ Erickson added two of his own. Manny Deras, Diego Garcia, Jackson Tidwell, Junior Rosas and Bryan Garcia each finished with one goal. Mason Gordon and Mason Smith combined for the shutout in the win.
