The East Jackson boys cross country team qualified for the State Championship Meet after finishing third in the Region 8-AA Championship meet on Oct. 26 at Lamar Murphy Park in Jefferson. The State Championships will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, in Carrollton.
Junior Hayden Hodges was the top-performing Eagle, finishing third-overall, with a time of 16:40.74. Griffin McDaniel and Colin Ramsey finished 15th and 16th, respectively, with times of 18:01.37 and 18:01.86. Senior Charlie Wheeler finished 22nd with a time of 19:02.75, while Michael Kelleher finished 24th with a time of 19:09.65.
