The East Jackson boys basketball team defeated the Commerce Tigers 69-49 on Dec. 18. The Eagles were led by Brody Carruth, Birdy Cunningham and Qua Watson in the victory over the in-county foe. The win lifted the Eagles' record to 7-4 on the season.
East Jackson opens region play on Jan. 3 against Banks County. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at East Jackson Comprehensive High School.
