Baseball Routs Hart County, 12-1

Bryse Patterson drove in five runs on two hits to lead the East Jackson baseball team past Hart County 12-1 on Monday. Patterson hit a home run to right field in the second inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the third inning, scoring two more.

East Jackson got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Jayden Nunez singled to center field, Reed Cassidy doubled down the left field line, and Drew Richardson walked, each scoring one run.

East Jackson scored three​ more runs in the bottom of the second on ​the homer to right field by Patterson.

East Jackson added to ​its early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Patterson doubled, scoring two runs, Riley Kesler induced Cassidy to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Richardson grounded out, scoring one run.

Hanseong Kang earned the win ​on the hill for East Jackson. The starter surrendered zero hits and one run over five innings, striking out two and walking three.

East Jackson piled up 13 hits in the game. Kang led ​t​he Eagles with three hits in three at bats. Cassidy, Brady Saunders, and Nick Carpenter each collected multiple hits for East Jackson. Richardson stole two bases. 

East Jackson​, which entered the week ranked 21st in Class AA's power rankings, will travel to Hart County for their next game on Wednesday.
