Baseball Downs BASA, Improves to 3-0
Walker Mauldin collected three hits in four at bats, as the East Jackson varsity baseball team defeated Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy 6-2 on Monday. East Jackson is now 3-0 on the season and visits Banks County Wednesday.
Mauldin singled in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, and doubled in the fourth inning to lead the offensive shoe for the Eagles. He finished with two runs batten in and two runs scored.
East Jackson captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the first when Mauldin singled, scoring two runs, and Noah Allen drew a walk, scoring one run.
The Eagles added one run in the second after Mauldin doubled to center field.
Hanseong Kang earned the win for East Jackson. The hurler gave up four hits and one run over six innings, striking out six and walking two.
East Jackson had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Drew Richardson and Allen led the team with two bases on balls each.
