Boys Basketball To Host East Jackson Thanksgiving Tournament

East Jackson Comprehensive High School will host an eight-team boys basketball tournament this weekend. East Jackson will be joined by in-county foe Commerce, along with Collins Hill, Flowery Branch, Lumpkin County, Tallulah Falls, Thomson and out-of-state competitor Pendleton (South Carolina).
The tournament begins Saturday, Nov. 18 and concludes with the championship game being played Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 per day and can be purchased through the S2 Pass App.
East Jackson’s first game will be Monday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m., against the winner of the Commerce versus Pendleton game. Those two teams play Saturday at 6 p.m. A victory Monday for East Jackson will place the Eagles into the championship game of the tournament, which will be played Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
East Jackson enters the tournament with a 2-0 record, following wins over Johnson and West Hall to begin the season.
Lumpkin County plays Flowery Branch at 3 p.m. on Saturday to begin tournament play. Collins Hill and Tallulah Falls play at 4:30 p.m. Thomson will play the loser of the Commerce versus Pendleton game on Monday at 4:30 p.m. The winners of the Lumpkin County-Flowery Branch and Collins Hill-Tallulah Falls games will play one another on Monday at 6 p.m., while the losers will play one another at 3 p.m.
The third-place game will be played Tuesday night at 6 p.m. The seventh-place game will be played Tuesday at 3 p.m., while the fifth-place game will be played at 4:30 p.m.
